Whiskey Rose was formed in the summer of 2014 to deliver hard rocking note-for-note tributes to some of the mostly highly regarded rock/metal bands of the 70’s/80’s/90’s.
The strong vocal talents of Darren James Smith were brought into the mix for the second show in November of that same year to cover the highly acclaimed album from Black Sabbath titled Heaven and Hell which continues to grow with added material from Rainbow and DIO.
Darren is currently the lead singer of Jake E Lee’s Red Dragon Cartel as well as drummer/vocalist of the well established band Harem Scarem. The backline of the band is comprised of members from local Toronto bands such as Jett Black and SYE who produced albums back in the early to late 80’s before disbanding but continued on their musical journeys.
To date the band has also covered the Blizzard of Ozz album a few times as well as a tribute to the Irish rockers Thin Lizzy. The quest continues!
